#WinterStormLinus is in full force.  It arrived where I am some time in the middle of the night while I was sound asleep.  I awoke this morning, just before dawn, by what sounded and felt like stampeding horses through my apartment going from room to room. Turns out is was my cat, Phoebe, chasing snowflakes from window to window while using my bed as a catapult to do so.  After drinking a cup of coffee to wake up, I got dressed and got ready to go out and attack the snow. Since we are to expect 5-10 inches of the white fluffy stuff, might as well get ahead of the game.  With storms like this, living in an apartment building, you have to dig out in stages.  If you wait until all over and done, well your back would be screaming at you if you did. Keep in mind, of the 4 units in my building, I am the only female tenant.  But why is it that I am the one doing the shovelling??? Anyway, it was 8am, boots on, shovel in hand.  I walked out the front door and stood at the top of the steps to look out.  The only thing I could think was, “Damn”. It had snowed a little!.

By this time I measured 6 inches had fallen already and we still have 12 hours to go with this downfall.  I cleared the steps and cleared the sidewalk in front of my building.  I look up and find my 20 something year old neighbor who lives downstairs  learing out the window. Really???!!! You have no idea how badly I wanted to ask him how his daddy raised him. Seriously, I don’t mind working hard and doing my fair share. I am not one to pass the buck.  But, Really???!!!

It is now a little after noon.  I am thinking it is about time for round 2 against Linus with gloves on.  Will my neighbors intercede?  Or will I be stuck out in the cold?  We’ll see.
